Ever have yours molt or shed?? I didnt know they did this and I thought my brother being mean put one more in the cage and it killed mine as the new one was all bright red and a little larger then the dead one that was upside down in the cage. Only until I went to remove it did I notice it was the same one. I think mine was the same as your Reved but it didnt grow large enough to eat mice. Though it would stuff 2 crickets in its mouth at the same time though. He was a pig with poor table mannors.

Those strands of web (or entire webs) of smaller spiders that get blown up in the sky?

OH, you mentioned your tarantula was a 'he'. Am sure the other women on this board would find humor in this, but male tarantulas (of all genus/phylum's) only tend to live for one year. Females can live for over a decade. I had Chlamydia for over 4 years (...waiting for VD cracks about THAT line!) until she got big enough, pushed open the top of her cage & scurried away. It was the middle of Winter, so don't think she got far before freezing, or if getting outdoors a bird picked her for breakfast. Never saw her again after the 4th Winter. Maybe she starved & mummified, clinging underneath a couch...

I don't really know if he was a he or a she. Never really looked. But I gave it the name of Bill. Not sure why. Oh an I hear that when they decide to run off the seek out fold up pants. ?:-)
